Cardinals vs. Rockies
Game 3 of series.
My 65th game at Coors this year.
Got 2 baseballs this game at batting practice. bringing my total for the season to 34. The first today was a bouncer off the track and the second was a roller that I picked up both were from the Cardinals.
Tyler Chatwood made the start for the Rockies. He retired the cardinals in order in the first.
He hit a single through the infield to right.
D.J. LeMahieu hit a double sending Dickerson to third.
Troy Tulowitzki hit a single to score both Dickerson and LeMahieu. To give the Rockies a 2-0 lead.
Todd Helton would hit into a double play in his first at bat this game
Tyler Chatwood pitching in the top of the 4th inning as I took a little wander around Coors, have not really done that this year too much. The Cardinals scored 4 runs between the 3rd and 5th innings. 2 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th and 5th. (4-2) Cardinals
Once again the Rockies let a game get away from them. Chatwood pitched 6 complete inning giving up 4 runs and 8 hits walking and striking out 1.
in the 6th inning Helton hit his 17th double of the season and 588 of his career. He would score on a Charlie Blackmon double his 15th of the year.
Todd Sliding into home for the Rockies 3rd run of the game, from the Blackmon double.
Jon Jay striking out in the 9th inning.
Dexter Fowler came in to pinch hit in the pitchers spot in the 9th. He lead-off the inning with a single. The Rockies would have the base’s loaded and Todd Helton would come to the plate. unfortunately he would strike out to end the game it would have been great to see him hit a walk of homer or single in this his last week at Coors. The Rockies lost this one 4-3 and they did not play to bad, but a few lost opportunities where runners could not score which is kinda the theme to this season. A run short with 11 runner left on base.
So that is it for this second short post from the Cardinals series.
Got the last one from this series and the Diamondbacks series.
See You at Coors.
