Atlanta Braves vs. Colorado Rockies
This game saw another MLB debut for a Rockies pitcher this game it was Christian Bergman’s turn. He pitched a very good first inning striking out 2 of the 4 batters he faced. The only base runner was Jason Heyward who reached based on a Troy Tulowitzki error at short. Bergman pitched 3 no hit innings and the Braves started getting hits in the 4th inning the first by B.J. Upton and the Second by Freddie Freeman both scored in the inning Upton on a Evan Gattis grounder and Freeman when Chris Johnson hit a single. That would give the Braves a 2-0 lead. He pitched well in the 5th inning which he got out of throwing only 10 pitches. The Braves swinging at the 1st or 2nd pitch helped keep the pitch count low and the 5 he threw to B.J. Upton was half the pitches for the inning. Bergman pitched a complete 6 innings striking out 4, He allowed only 5 hits and 2 runs and he walked 2.

He also got his first MLB hit in his 3rd inning at bat.
In the 7th inning Corey Dickerson hit a lead off solo home run to give the Rockies their first run of the game and cut the Braves lead by 1. The Score was 2-1. The Rockies threatened slightly in the inning with 2 outs after D.J. LeMahieu walked and Brandon Barnes hit a double. Barnes came into pinch hit for the pinch hitter Ryan Wheeler in the pitchers spot after the Braves changed pitchers after Wheeler was announced. Luis Avilan Came into replace Gavin Floyd who started for the Braves.
Rex Brother pitched the 7th for the Rockies, he pitched well in the inning striking out 3 of the 4 Braves batters he faced. The only base runner he allowed was a walk to Heyward.
The Braves scored a 3rd run in the 8th with a little small ball off of Adam Ottavino. Ottavino walked Justin Upton who scored on a Chris Johnson single.
Mike McKenry hits a ball to center in the 9th inning for the second out of the 9th inning for the Rockies.
Craig Kimbrel who came in to close the game for the Braves came in a little close to Charlie Culberson during his 9th inning at bat. Culberson would eventfully walk.
Wilin Rosario could not catch up to this Kimbrel fast ball to strike out and end the game.
The Rockies would lose this one 3-1.
They are now 29-34 and it seems that the season is quickly getting away from them. They also had more bad news on Monday when Michael Cuddyer is out with a broken shoulder and Carlos Gonzalez was going to have exploratory surgery on his finger.
