Rain, Rain go away and come back another….No,No just go away!

Dodgers vs. Rockies

Game 3

Today was a autograph Sunday and they had to do it on the concourse which always adds to the craziness. The signers for todays game was Carlos Gonzalez, Chris Martin, Corey Dickerson and Eddie Butler. I got on Eddie Butlers line because I needed him on my team project and got him. I then got on Corey Dickerson’s line because I have a photo of him that I took in Ashville in 2011 after he hit a walk-off to win a game against the Greenville Drive.

Jorge De La Rosa Started for the Rockies. This start was not a very good start for him he started the game by walking Chone Figgins and Hanley Ramirez. With the 2 runners on Adrian Gonzalez struck out and things looked like they were picking up for him till Matt Kemp came to the plate. Kemp hit a 2 run triple to left-field.  That gave the Dodgers a 2 to 0 lead. Jorge struck out the next 2 batters Scott Van Slyke and Jamie Romak. 7 of the first 9 outs were strike outs for him and it seemed like he was getting the strike outs but was going very deep into counts with batters. in the first inning he went 6 or more photos with everyone but Kemp.

Hanley Ramirez batting in the 1st inning.

Matt Kemp before hitting his 2 run triple.

Because of the rain the photos were kind of limited.

Clayton Kershaw was the starting pitcher for the dodgers and he pretty much owned the Rockies striking out the side in the 1st inning, by only throwing 13 pitch’s.

Troy Tulowitzki argues the called strike 3 to end the first inning. Seems to be a very familiar photo lately. I feel like I am taking it a lot.

Clayton Kershaw going into his wind up while pitching in the 2d inning. He did continue to strike out all 3 batters in the 2nd inning as well but the Rockies did get 2 hits off him in the inning, singles hit by  Wilin Rosario and D.J. LeMahieu.

The Rockies got within 1 run of the Dodgers in the 4th inning on another familiar thing by Tulo and that was a lead off solo home run in the 4th inning. The Rain continued to fall and Jorge’s pitch count continued to rise!

Jorge was removed from the game in the 6th inning with 1 out and 2 men on. In the inning after getting the first out Hanley Ramirez hit a home run that is now being tracked by NORAD. It was hit towards the concourse and I think they said it was 472 feet and after the bounce ended up in Blackhawk! this still has not been confirmed but I think it hit someone sitting at a Penny slot machine.

Matt Belilse continued the imploding ways of the bullpen after he aloud 2 singles that scored 3 runs. 3 of those runs were charged to Jorge and he was responsible for 5 of the 6 runs. Jorge did strike out a total of 8 batters and walked 4.

The game then went into a a 1:35 minute rain delay and then was called because of the field conditions. This game probably should have been put into a delay earlier and that may have saved the field and may have saved the Rockies from giving up the 4 runs in the 6th inning. The rain did let up but when they pulled the tarp the field was a mess and the game was called.

So that is it by this run and rain saturated game. The Rockies are back at it for the next for game against the Atlanta Braves.

See you at Coors!
